On Thursday, February 22, the Ronaldo Lameira school hosted the Carnival parade of the winning team from the competition that took place on Carnival Friday, with the “Carna Ronaldo” project. This action involved all the teachers, staff and school management, promoting great interaction and fun for everyone.
The groups were formed by the morning classes (6th, 7th and 8th grades). The sixth years were guests of honor at the presentation. The competition was attended by four judges, the sweepers and a very lively audience!
In interviews with the teachers, students and school administrators, information was obtained such as: the importance of the project for the school, where the ideas came from, whether they enjoyed taking part in the project, etc.
The teachers said they were happy with the students' involvement. Teacher Nadya emphasizes the students' protagonism and socio-emotional issues: “I think the project is important for the students to feel part of the school, to feel valued, so it's good in every way. Both pedagogically and socio-emotionally.”
The idea came up at the start of the school year, suggested by art teacher Marta. In an interview, Marta said that she came up with the idea because Carnival was at the beginning of the students' return. “We worked during the first week on the importance of collectivity and talking to the teachers we came up with the idea of working on Carnival with them, involving everyone.”
Geography teacher Michelle de Mello says she was pleased to take part in “Carna Ronaldo” “I really enjoyed it, the students interacted, had fun and learned a lot about carnival, which is part of Brazil's popular culture.”
Portuguese teacher and Performing Arts director Demétrius was in charge of the rehearsals. He said he was pleased with the result and the commitment “I really liked the result, even though some of the students didn't show up on the day, because they made a commitment and didn't show up, but I think that in the end, those who were here really enjoyed it.”
The school's management team said they intend to carry out new projects on commemorative dates. Assistant headmaster Carlos Leonardo said he was pleased with the involvement of the whole school community and that more events would be held: “We intend to expand to other commemorative dates. So we're going to implement it on other dates too, so that you have the opportunity to develop and take a leading role within the school.”
